Not be confused with the BarOS lineup of systems.
B OS is a special system added in the update 0.98. It is based on BeOS. The system has two versions:
- PC version, available on Progress Computer (PC)
- BC version, available on Progresh
There are no major differences between the two versions, though progress is separate between each version. To unlock B OS, you must collect 3 million points in BarOS after unlocking BAR/X.
According to the about window, the system is on version 1.8b and was released in 1996 by Byte. Within the about window there is also a button reading "Teapot test". Clicking it will bring a spinning Utah teapot along with the current CPU and GPU being used and the FPS the teapot is moving at.

Trivia[edit | edit source]
- This is the only system available both on Progress Computer and Progresh.
- This is because BeOS was made for both PowerPC and x86 architectures.
- The voice in the startup sound says "Be happy”.[1]
- This is the only system that doesn't have a way to explore files in any form, despite BeOS being able to.
- This system is based on BarOS 8, despite running on the Progresh Power 9000 in the BC kernel.
- The only BarOS 8 assets that remain are the Filer folder icons, Leaderboard icon, social icons, Clippy's default character asset, and the Remove Ads icon.
- Oddly enough, in the PC kernel, the Mailbox "That is my little baby!" easter egg still remains, just harder because the little paperclip is invisible.
- Teapot test is based on GLTeapot, a graphic demo from BeOS.
- B OS (PC kernel) and Progressbar Chitown are the only Progressbar systems to not feature ScanProgress.
- B OS (BC kernel) is the only BarOS system to not feature Progress Ambulance.
- B OS (PC kernel) is the only Progressbar system to not have ProgressDOS.
- B OS (BC kernel) is the only BarOS system to not have a file manager or terminal.
- In the BarOS 14 Sonant teaser, the BarOS boot menu has B OS unlocked but with BAR/X being locked.
- In B OS, if Bin is full, he will have yellow balls with black circles or stripes inside. This is a reference to the bee, which is an insect that shares its name pronunciation with the first part of the system's name: B OS.
- When the marker is in the red area in the overclock minigame, only the PC version of B OS's wallpapers are changed to red.
- B OS has the taskbar on the left side of the screen, but BeOS has the taskbar is on the right side.
